Dr. Xianyong Feng

Function: Research Associate



Biography

Dr. Feng joined UT-CEM in June 2015. His main research interest is on energy management and dynamic control for microgrids, all-electric ship power system, power system modeling and simulation, DC power system protection, smart grid cyber security, and oil & gas electric distribution systems. Prior to joining UT-CEM, Dr. Feng was a research scientist at ABB US Corporate Research in Raleigh, NC since 2011. He was involved in multiple R&D projects related to microgrids, DC power system protection, and distribution system thermal overload monitoring. His industrial experience also includes an internship with ExxonMobil working on stability analysis for an oil & gas electric power system.



Current Project

Office of Naval Research: analysis and design of 20 kV DC cables for ship power systems.
