CEM has developed and validated a controls design process through numerous prototype development projects. While initial controls are typically designed in MATLAB Simulink, using dynamic prototyping capabilities to perform iterative development, any control design can be easily transitioned to the physical prototype testing environment via dSPACE or NI PXI. CEM engineers have executed controls development across a broad scope of projects and systems. Some of the largest system control schemes implemented by CEM have included power management for all electric naval ship architectures and controlling the 12 ton hexapod tracking system of the Hobby Eberly telescope to within 10 microns of accuracy.
